Eat & Drink

Belitung's food mixes Malay, Chinese and seafaring traditions. The dishes to try are mie Belitung, yellow noodles in a sweet prawn broth, gangan, a sour turmeric fish soup often made with pineapple, and the island's grilled and steamed seafood. Otak-otak, fish cakes grilled in banana leaf, are sold everywhere.

Tanjung Pandan has the widest choice, from old family noodle shops to harbour seafood restaurants; the beach areas have warungs and resort restaurants. Every listing here shows its location on the map, with opening hours where we have them.
