Dapoer Belitong

Dapoer Belitong is a colourful seafood restaurant on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in Buluh Tumbang, close to H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport. Its long opening hours, from 06:00 until midnight, make it handy for early arrivals and late flights alike.

The menu is broad but seafood leads: grilled fish priced by weight, fried squid, fried fish, fish soup and dishes such as fried tofu with salted egg. Diners praise the fresh grilled fish and the reasonable bill, roughly US$15 for two with drinks. The owner is often on the floor taking orders and making recommendations. There is no full English menu, so it helps to point at dishes or ask staff for suggestions.

The building has a small stage for live music and karaoke in the evening and a large car park that takes buses, so it is busy with tour groups at peak times. If you want a quieter meal, come early in the evening. It is a sensible stop on the way to or from the airport or on a drive to East Belitung.
