KDH, short for Kopi Dari Hati ('coffee from the heart'), is a coffee shop on Jalan Hasan Saie in Perawas, on the eastern side of Tanjung Pandan towards the airport road. It is a small, neat space with a mural wall, indoor and outdoor seating and a quiet atmosphere that local regulars use for meeting friends or working.
The drinks list covers espresso-based coffees, iced coffee with milk and non-coffee drinks, while the food menu includes rice dishes, noodles and snacks such as fried bananas. Reviews are consistently positive about the coffee, the variety of food and the friendly owner, who is often behind the counter. Prices are modest.
KDH opens from 14:30 to 22:00 and closes on Thursdays, so it suits an afternoon break or a relaxed evening rather than breakfast. It is a useful stop if you are staying near the airport road or heading back into town from the east of the island. Reservations are accepted for groups.
School holidays and long weekends bring crowds from Jakarta: book beach resorts and boats ahead then.
