Belitong Inn Hotel

Belitong Inn is a long-established, family-style hotel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, the main road through the centre of Tanjung Pandan. It markets itself as simple and comfortable, and that is a fair summary: a three-storey building with straightforward rooms, a 24-hour front desk and prices aimed at holidaymakers, sales reps and business travellers alike.

Rooms are clean and plainly furnished with air conditioning and private bathrooms; some have been refreshed with brighter decor. Guests consistently mention the friendly staff and a breakfast with more variety than most budget hotels, with the fried bananas a particular favourite. There is also a karaoke room, so ask for a room away from it if you are a light sleeper. Motorbikes can be hired from reception for around Rp100,000 a day.

The hotel says the airport is about 20 minutes away by car, Tanjung Pendam beach and the souvenir shops about five minutes, and Tanjung Tinggi and Tanjung Kelayang around 40 minutes. Plenty of local restaurants are within walking distance. Book via the hotel's website or by phone.
