Santika Premiere Beach Resort is a sizeable modern resort on the coast east of Tanjung Tinggi, in the Sijuk district. With more than 3,000 Google reviews it is one of the most visited hotels on the island, popular with Indonesian families, honeymooners and tour groups.

The resort faces its own white-sand beach, and the long swimming pool runs alongside the sea. Many rooms have balconies looking straight out to the water, and there is a gym, spa and a small library. Guests praise the welcome, the clean rooms and the views; breakfast and restaurant menus are described as adequate rather than exciting, and some fittings are showing wear. Room service is reasonably priced if you would rather eat in.

Location is a strength. Tanjung Tinggi's granite boulders and Tanjung Kelayang's island-hopping jetty are both close, which makes it easy to return for a shower after a day on the boats. Sijuk's Al Ikhlas mosque, the oldest on the island, and Bukit Peramun are also within reach. Allow about 45 minutes to Tanjung Pandan and an hour to the airport.
