Inggrid Homestay is a small family guesthouse in Keciput village, within easy reach of Tanjung Kelayang beach and its island-hopping boats. It is the kind of place where the hosts' children play with visiting families and the owner brings round extra fruit, snacks or dinner.

Rooms are simple and on the small side, but clean, with comfortable beds, and the Wi-Fi is strong enough for video calls and translation apps. Breakfast is cooked by Inggrid's mother, and reviewers rave about her home cooking, especially the spicy sweet-and-sour soy and chilli sauces. Inggrid speaks little English, but her older daughter helps, and communicating by phone translation works fine. One reviewer had a bad experience with overpriced motorbike hire arranged through a relative, so agree prices clearly in advance.

The location is ideal for a few nights of island hopping on a budget: beach restaurants and the boat jetty are close, and Tanjung Tinggi is a short scooter ride away. Book by phone or WhatsApp with the host, and confirm the nightly rate in writing.

School holidays and long weekends bring crowds from Jakarta: book beach resorts and boats ahead then.
