Kong Djie is Belitung's most famous coffee name, founded in Tanjung Pandan in 1943, and this branch brings it to Sungai Samak in the Badau district. It is a large, airy coffee shop and restaurant with a high steel roof, plenty of tables and a spacious car park, on the left-hand side of the road heading from Tanjung Pandan towards Tanjung Ru and the Tanjung Batu harbour, at the end of Tiris hamlet.

Order the signature kopi susu or kopi O, brewed Kong Djie style, or try the hamoy orange iced drink, which reviewers single out. The food menu is varied and reasonably priced, with rice and noodle dishes and snacks, and the food is halal. One regular noted that the kopi susu tasted slightly more bitter than at the original Siburik shop, so ask for your preferred sweetness.

It opens daily from 07:00 to 23:00 and accepts QRIS payments. It is a good place for breakfast or a coffee break on a drive to the south-west coast, or a quieter alternative to the crowded Kong Djie shops in town.

School holidays and long weekends bring crowds from Jakarta: book beach resorts and boats ahead then.
