Bukit Peramun is a granite hill covered in tropical forest in Air Selumar village, managed by a local community group as a nature and education site within the Belitung Geopark. Trails climb past large boulders and through the forest to viewpoints at the top, where you look out across the island's interior and towards the coast.

The site is known for its use of digital signage: many trees and plants carry QR-coded labels with information about the species. Bukit Peramun is also one of the best places in Belitung to see the Western tarsier, a tiny nocturnal primate, and the community runs guided evening walks for this, which should be arranged in advance. The walk to the top takes around 30 to 45 minutes at an easy pace.

It is about 20 minutes' drive from Tanjung Pandan. Daytime opening is roughly 09:00 to 15:00, with tarsier tours by arrangement. Wear proper shoes, bring water and insect repellent, and follow your guide's instructions near the animals: no flash photography and no touching.

School holidays and long weekends bring crowds from Jakarta: book beach resorts and boats ahead then.
