Gwen Dive Centre

Gwen Dive Centre is a small dive operation in Padang, on the road between Manggar and Gantung in East Belitung. Established in February 2020 and affiliated with Professional SCUBA School (PSS), it provides marine tour guiding, scuba equipment rental and dive training, and is one of the few dedicated dive centres on the island.

Dives explore the reefs and islands off the east coast, which see far fewer visitors than the north-west. The centre also runs coral transplantation as an educational activity for residents and tourists, and works on training local people as future guides and marine stewards, so it is a good fit for travellers interested in conservation as well as diving.

Contact the team in advance by email, Instagram or WhatsApp to arrange dives or courses, as trips depend on demand, sea conditions and the season; calmer months are generally from around March to October. Bring your certification card and logbook. Manggar is around 90 minutes from Tanjung Pandan, so it makes sense to stay in East Belitung for a night or two.
